Discover your unique musical passion! Learn classical, jazz, or rock. Develop your technique, understand music theory, and gain skill in ear-training and improvisation. The Cheri Sykes Music Studio features a new 5'8" grand piano. Today's keyboard is the COMPLETE instrument and students can be exposed to the widest range of its possibilities, including synthesizer, MIDI, computer/keyboard multi-track recording, and music notation software.
The Cheri Sykes Music Studio utilizes computer-based theory and ear-training programs (optional). Students are also encouraged, but not required, to participate in the piano skills, repertoire, theory and ear-training exams sponsored by Minnesota Music Teachers Association (useful benchmarks of progress and fine motivators!). Many opportunities are available for recital experiences throughout the year, giving the student opportunity to hone repertoire and performing abilities, as desired.
Cheri is a jazz pianist, who is also trained classically, B.A., M.S.M., Master Certified, Minnesota Music Teachers Association. All ages and levels are welcome. Studio is near Hwy 169, between Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove. Rates are $24/half hour; $36/45 minutes.
