Bev Carroll began her formal piano training in 1969 in Des Moines Iowa at Open Bible College and under instructors of Drake University. She continued studies through instruction at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois. A move to Bloomington, Illinois took her to studies through Wesleyan College. There she began some piano instruction out of her home.
She has also accompanied stage and recording artists, performed in churches and Christian womens Clubs and taught improvisation to church pianists. After moving to Franklin, TN in 1980, she was employed with the Music Business Dept. of Belmont University. Later she began her private teaching Studio and it quickly grew to 60 students.
Bev has served as an officer for several Music organizations in the Nashville Area, including the Nashville Piano Guild, serving as President twice and is a board member for the Nashville Piano Achievement Competition. She served on a panel of judges for Steinway's Fun Competition in 2008 and 2009. She has served as organist and choir conductor for Redeemer Lutheran Church as well as St. Matthews Catholic Church. She presently attends Parish Presbyterian Church in Franklin, TN and does supply work as pianist, singer and worship leader. She actively mentors new piano teachers in the area.
Currently, Bev has an active Piano Studio with students from beginner through advanced levels, including adults. Guild and Festival participation is encouraged but not required. Students study theory, improvisation, ear training, technique, and composition. All styles of music are offered. Many students have achieved careers in music by advancing as Music Majors at the collegiate level.
Mrs. Bev Carroll's unique style of teaching is sure to enrich and enhance each student's endeavors in pursuing their particular interest in music....whether it is professional or for their own enjoyment.
