Green Mountain School of Piano
Marie-Helene Belanger
Piano Teacher South Woodbury, Vermont
We offer instruction in classical piano. I draw on my knowledge and love of music, along with over 12 years of teaching experience, to create a stimulating environment for both beginner and advanced students,`` said Marie-Helene Belanger, founder of the Green Mountain School of Piano. A Steinway Grand Piano model O from 1905 is used for lessons at the school.

In Vermont's majestic Green Mountains, just north of Woodbury Lake, and adjacent to the South Woodbury Congregational Church, the Green Mountain School of Piano is set on beautiful tree-studded grounds, bordered by a trout stream and deep woods. Visitors and students of the Green Mountain School of Piano are struck with the beauty and serenity of the landscape - the awesome mountain views, forest, lakes, flowing rivers and waterfalls. The mission of the Green Mountain School of Piano is to enrich the lives of its students and to build and embellish our community through the sharing of music.

Pianist Marie-Helene Belanger is an active recital soloist and chamber musician. Since her stunning orchestral debut at the age of nine with I Musici of Montreal, she has won the admiration and respect of audiences, critics and fellow musicians with her passionate and polished performances. Before opening Green Mountain School of Piano, Ms. Belanger received her Master's degree in Music in 2001 from the University of Montreal, where she studied with Jean Saulnier. In 2004, she graduated from the Mannes College of Music (Manhattan, New York), where she was enrolled in the Professional Studies Diploma program, studying with world renowned classical pianists Diane Walsh and Nina Svetlanova.

For the past 12 years Ms. Belanger has taught private students in both Montreal, Quebec and Manhattan, New York. Marie-Helene Belanger is a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers and believes that music is a powerful asset that enables everyone to develop their imagination, concentration and sensitivity. Independent studies show that children who learn piano tend to do better in school. This is attributed to the discipline, hand-eye coordination, social skills building, learning of a new language (music) and the pleasure derived from making your own music.
