Piano Teacher Longmont, Colorado
Music has been an important tradition in Stephanie's family for several generations. Her father began teaching her to play the piano when she was 2 years old, then turned her over to another teacher when she turned 5. After graduating high school with several music and vocal awards, Stephanie enrolled in many collegiate-level music education courses, including Music History, Italian and English Diction, Aral and Written Theory, Music Education, Voice, and Convocation. Some of these classes included the study of several teaching methods and many observation hours within a classroom setting. Through these classes, as well as religion-based functions, Stephanie has gained valuable teaching experience by giving presentations on music education to students of various age groups. During her studies at the University of Wyoming, she compiled a short music portfolio and listening log which are available for interested students and parents to view.

Most of Stephanie's piano knowledge comes from may hours of playing and teaching friends and family basic piano concepts. During her fifteen years of piano experience, she's played professionally for many church choirs, both inside and outside her own religion. Stephanie has spent many hours as the pianist for a dinner-theatre melodrama during Frontier Days in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Since then, numerous individuals and groups have asked that she accompany them during reversals, vocal festivals, church solos, and auditions. She's also had three year's experience as a jazz band pianist.

Stephanie prefers to teach from the Bastian Piano Basics Course, though she's become familiar with several other Courses, and is willing to discuss with each student the series which would best benefit his individual needs.

Teaching piano lessons privately is a new venture for Stephanie, and she's certain that her musical background, as well as her experience in teaching children of all ages in many various religious classes, will be great assets to her students. Stephanie takes music very seriously, and attributes her musical talent first to the Lord, and then to the many wonderful teachers and family members who cultivated and developed a love of music in their homes. She has undertaken piano lessons as a way to share the love and power of music with others, and has vowed that each student, while progressing at his own level, will cherish the gift of understanding and sharing his own musical talent. As the oldest of seven siblings, Stephanie has always been comfortable around children, and has found that teaching, especially young children and beginning pianists, comes naturally. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and love of music with her students for many years to come.
