Owner, Carmen Hall Studio of Piano Teach 20+ students ranging from 1st grade to adult, beginning to advanced. Students have become piano majors, some receiving full music tuition scholarships at a university level. Others have presented recitals on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, received honors and awards in festivals and competitions at state and local levels. Founder, Young Pianists International Founded in 1996, the goal of this organization is to share cultural experiences and performance opportunities with other music students throughout the world. The group has travelled to China (twice), Japan, Mexico and Oregon (twice). Future plans include performances in Japan, 2014 and France, 2015. Clinician •Master classes taught for UMTA State Conference, Brigham Young University UMTA Chapter, Nebo UMTA Chapter, Provo Chapter of UMTA, Timpanogos UMTA Chapter, Encore Music Teachers Organization •Presented session on Technic for UMTA State Conference •Presented session on Business for Provo UMTA Chapter and BYU Student Chapter Educator • Learning Wrap Ups - developed music version of this educational resource used throughout the United States. Distributed through Alfred Music Company. •Taught BYU Early Childhood Music classes for three years and then started classes, "Music and Me" for children and parents to enjoy together •Taught Group Piano, Keyboard Harmony and Private Lessons while at BYU Education Masters Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, BYU, 1992 Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, BYU, 1990 Ongoing Education - regularly attend National MTNA Conferences, Utah State Music Teacher Conferences, international piano competitions, state and local piano competitions, master classes, workshops, and local music teacher meetings. Awards Leonard Pennario Performance Award, BYU Pedagogy Award, Baldwin Fellowship Award Performed with the BYU Symphony and Oregon Green Symphony. Service in Organizations Utah Music Teachers Association Served as Music Link Teacher giving discounted or free lessons to those in need. Served as Vice Chairman of Student Competitions, Chairman of Student Teacher Award and Chapter Vice President. Encore Music Teachers Organization Currently Theory and Ear Training Evaluation Chairman, 7 years Served as President, Scholarship Chair Music Teachers National Association - Permanently certified member Church Musician – 3 to 5 hours weekly for 36 years Assist with organ, piano, choir music for weekly meetings and special programs. Train youth members to assist and accompany music for meetings.
