Began playing the piano at age 2 1/2 with lessons begun at age 4 1/2. Student of Marion White, Mary Goode Brooke, Bristow Hardin, Clifford Herzer, Armand Basile of the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, and Irwin Freundlich of the Julliard School. She made her New York debut at the Carnegie Recital Hall. Though all of her studies were in preparation for the performance of classical music, Andrea from her earliest years, has been composing and improvising. At the age of eight, she submitted the winning entry in a composition competition sponsored by the Norfolk Symphony, now the Virginia Symphony. Providing private Classical piano lessons with Theory in every lesson. Hand development for ultimate control and power in the softest or heaviest of playing. Ear training, learning how to sing on pitch and Improvisation are greatly Encouraged! Never agree to be a beginner.... forever! Member National Guild of Piano Teachers, BMI.
